Students Stand for the Little Victors

Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan (DMUM) raised $510,702.86 during its annual VictorThon on Sunday, March 26. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, DMUM gathered more than 650 student dancers who committed to stay on their feet for 24 hours — no sitting allowed — to raise money for the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Beaumont Children's.

The dancers surpassed their $500,000 fundraising goal for 2017, and they exceeded their 2016 total by more than $35,000.

Mott will use its portion of the proceeds for pediatric rehabilitation programs for children with disabilities. These will include art therapy, yoga, adaptive tree climbing, martial arts, sports club, music therapy and other initiatives within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Child and Family Life departments.
